2011 Lookup at EGL Group
According to the final result upon the expiry of the supplementary offer deadline on 1 September, Axpo now controls 99.8% of the voting rights and share capital of EGL AG.
For the first time EGL has delivered an LNG (liquefied-natural-gas) cargo to Greece. The cargo was unloaded in two discharges at Greece's LNG terminal, located on the island of Revithoussa, west of Athens. EGL's first LNG delivery to the Greek natural gas market is a further step in expanding gas activities in South East Europe.
Recently AET, EKS, EKZ, ewl and SN Energie, as well as the energy trader EGL founded the investment company, Terravent AG. The purpose of the company is to invest in wind farms in Europe. For the participating companies, the partnership offers more efficiency in project evaluations and better chances in the acquisition of plants.
The EGL Group increased its net profit to CHF 47.7 million (+24%) in the first half-year 2010/11 as compared to the prior-year period. The main reasons are the cost reduction programme as well as the improved financial result.

In this opening section of the 2nd edition of the European pay survey, we have again made a comparison between the employer costs and the net income in the various countries, based on the same gross pay. We have discussed the figures concerned in brief below and made a comparison based on 3 different components, i.e. net income, employer costs and the net/costs ratio.
The 'Antal Global Snapshot' is a regular survey of hiring (and firing) trends in some of the world's most important employment markets and in those likely to join this group over the coming decade. Overall hiring is down since our last survey in December, but the good news however, is that it is only down by 1%.
